The
nurse manager came in after I arrived to talk with me about my medications.
The dietary manager came in to talk about my food likes and dislikes.
The social worker came in and gave me an idea about what would happen
during my stay and answered my questions. I met with the physical
therapist and learned about the procedure they would use to help
me. The therapist told me she would come and take me to therapy
first thing in the morning to get started.
The
activities director asked me what I liked to do and how I wanted
to pass the time. The administrator also came by and talked with
me. You and your social worker told me about how billing would take
place. Even the young lady that mopped the hall was friendly.
The
nursing staff was very attentive. The compassion shown to me by
your nursing staff made my stay seem much shorter. Even if I didn’t
ring my call bell different nursing staff members would stop by
to check in on me. The nurse assistants taught me how to take a
bed bath.
I
enjoyed the food. It was always hot when delivered to my room. I
was able to sleep at night because my hall was quiet.
I
came in to Mount Pleasant Manor in a wheelchair. After two and a
half weeks I left walking with a cane. I was taught how to take
a shower without any help. The therapy department did a magnificent
job in not only strengthening my muscles and teaching me to walk,
but the main thing was they helped me have confidence that I could
do it.
As
you know I have been a pharmacy consultant in nursing homes for
the past thirty years. I have been in a lot of nursing homes. Mount
Pleasant Manor exceeded all my expectations. It felt like a family
was caring for me and not an institution.
When
I went home I left with a smile on my face and a heart full of good
feelings about my experience at your facility. Please thank the
staff for their kindness and for all the help they gave to me. Now
that I’m home I look back and I thank God for places like
Mount Pleasant Manor.
Sincerely,
Joe
